From providing funds for critical building maintenance, to creating new opportunities for learning, here are some of the ways Wonderful Foundations is making a difference in charter schools.
Covered walkways for STARS
Sandhills Theatre Arts Renaissance School (STARS) in NC has tripled enrollment over the past 10 years to over 700 students. With support from WF, the school completed 2 phases of expansion, including 10 new classrooms, admin space, and most recently the addition of covered walkways connecting buildings and brand new sidewalks.

New Lighting for Desert Sage
Desert Sage (AZ) has upgraded its lighting throughout the school, reporting a brighter feeling environment for students to learn. Grant Range: $10K-$25K Grant Year: 2023
New teaching spaces for FIT Academy
FIT academy (MN) converted the back of their cafeteria to two classrooms for small group teaching and 1:1 sessions with the kids, plus a utility closet. Grant Range: $25K-$50K Grant Year: 2022
Construction of New Buildings and Gym for Desert Star
Desert Star (AZ) constructed new buildings and a gym (completed in 2024). Grant Range: $1M+ Grant Year: 2022
Facility expansion for Wayne Prep
Wayne Prep (NC) completed a 26,000 sq. ft. expansion adding 10 classrooms, labs, music/art classroom, offices, a basketball gym and more. Grant Range: $1M + Grant Year: 2022
Computers for Palmer Ranch
Palmer Ranch (FL) has new computers for use by teachers and students. Grant Range: $10K-$25K Grant Year: 2022
